Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV Car: Between madness and genius is a thin line. The Ioniq 5 generally navigates that precarious tightrope with assurance. After spending the better part of two days inside the cabin by myself, driving it around (and also to death), I can say this with a bit more confidence now. Here is what we discovered.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV Car: Know about the smoothness and comfort

The suspension tuning on the Ioniq 5 feels a little unsure, almost as if it can’t decide between being comfortable/soft and sporty/stiff. It resides in an odd grey area. A soothing feeling can be had when the controlled body movement and the silent cabin combine on smooth roads. It gives off the impression of a speedboat on calm waters, slashing through the countryside peacefully while the passengers are at ease. Similar to the speedboat, the Ioniq 5 takes a second longer than optimal to return to a smooth ride after navigating minor bumps and undulations on the highway.

Let’s have some look on cut off reflection and shape of car

You actually need a reference point at all times to understand this car is a Tucson/Compass-sized vehicle, whether it be the retro-futuristic design components, the matte paint that cuts off reflections, or the general shape of the car. It simply needs height to have an unequivocal SUV vibe.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV Car: Know about the speed

The Ioniq 5 is laughably speedy for a car its size (and weight). The 0-100kmph timing, according to Hyundai, is 7.6 seconds. We were able to hit the tonne in 7.68 seconds with the VBox strapped to us. It will travel at questionable speeds (electronically limited to 188) far too readily and remain there all day.

Let’s see how the battery will charge up

The regular 3.3kW charger is incredibly slow while charging the Ioniq 5. The car’s anticipated time for a full charge from 0% was 42 hours. When you consider that the battery had only reached about 36% after 12 hours, that also looked reasonable. This isn’t always a bad thing because you can travel 140 kilometres on this charge. The enormous 72.6kWh battery capacity plays a significant role in the lengthy charge time.Additionally, we got to try out a 120kW public charger. It took 25-95% a little under an hour. Due to a power outage, we had to stop charging the Ioniq 5 at 95%, however there is an interesting pattern to how it charges up:
