Jeep Wrangler EV: We hear about the rising levels of pollution in our nation on a daily basis. To lower pollution in every state, the government is putting new laws and regulations into place. Is it that simple to do, though? Our cars are mostly responsible for the majority of pollution. Many individuals are turning to electric vehicles as a result in an effort to reduce the rising pollution. As a result, automakers release cutting-edge new electric cars on a monthly basis. With the new Jeep Wrangler EV platform, Jeep is attempting to transform our all-time favourite car into a fully electric vehicle. In 2028, the Jeep Wrangler of the future will enter production. There will be two available powertrain configurations: a BEV and a range-extender system. The powertrains of the next Wrangler (J70) will be combustion-assisted and pure EV.
Which platform are they taking up for these new electric vehicles?
The STLA Frame platform, which will support the Ram 1500 REV pickup truck in 2025, is most likely going to be used in the production of the electric Wrangler. Stellantis plans to incorporate this body-on-frame platform into a new family of electric vehicle architectures into its products beginning the next year. With the 1500 REV’s 1,224 kg payload and 6,350 kg towing capability, the platform places a strong emphasis on payload and towing capabilities. The expected price of this electric vehicle is Rs. 65 lakhs. This is a substantial increase over the Ford F-150 Lightning, its rival.
What’s new with this Jeep Wrangler EV?
Jeep intends to introduce the Recon, a tough electric SUV, before releasing the Wrangler EV. The Recon will be built on Stellantis’s monocoque-construction, road-oriented STLA Large platform, with the goal of providing off-road capability. Both electric 4x4s might coexist, according to Antonella Bruno, the head of Jeep’s European division, who said, “The Recon in Europe will be a white-space car.” It’s a pretty special car, extremely boxy, quite powerful. It will be positioned below the Wrangler in the market sector.”
