Maruti Wagon R flex: This upcoming flex-fuel vehicle can run on any ethanol-petrol blend between 20% and 85%, everything you must know

Maruti Wagon R flex: At the Auto Expo 2023, Maruti Suzuki displayed a Wagon R flex-fuel prototype. Previously, the Wagon R with flex-fuel technology was on display at the SIAM Ethanol Technology Exhibition in Delhi. According to the most recent information, the Indian automaker intends to launch its first flex-fuel mass segment vehicle in 2025.

Run on any ethanol-petrol blend

The Maruti flex-fuel vehicles will be designed and manufactured in India. This will help to reduce the country’s crude oil imports while also boosting the country’s agricultural economy. These flex-fuel vehicles will be able to run on any ethanol-petrol blend between 20% (E20) and 85% (E85) (E85).

Maruti Wagon R flex: Plans to launch new EVs

Furthermore, the automaker has laid out a production plan, implying that the first EV will arrive in FY2025. Not only that, but by 2030, Maruti Suzuki hopes to sell 15% of battery electric vehicles, 25% of hybrids, and 60% of ICE cars with CNG, biogas, and ethanol-powered powertrains. In addition, the manufacturer has collaborated with the Indian government and Banad Dairy to establish a Biogas Demonstration Project. The facility is scheduled to begin operations in mid-2024.
