New safety features

The good news for buyers is that Nissan will include new safety features as standard equipment. These functions include TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), TCS (Traction Control System), vehicle dynamic control, and hill start assist. Nissan is commendable for making novel features like TPMS standard.

Some reduced features

However, it is not all additions. Nissan has also reduced some features. Magnite's LED fog lights are now only available on the top-spec XV Premium trim. The mid-spec XL trim previously included a rear parcel shelf and two tweeters on top of four speakers. The XL trim of the 2023 Nissan magnite loses both the rear parcel shelf and the tweeters.

Four stars in GNCAP crash tests

TPMS allows you to monitor tyre pressure, lowering the risk of an accident and uneven tyre wear. In terms of safety, Nissan has already laid a solid foundation. It also received four stars in GNCAP crash tests. Other standard features include a rear defogger, washer, and wiper.

How does it fair against rivals?

Magnite prices have risen by up to Rs. 20,500 in 2023. Nissan Magnite offers LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED fog lights, an 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument screen, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, and much more for the price.

The 1.0L 3-cylinder engine is shared with Renault and is available in two configurations. In NA configuration, it produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque while being mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It produces 100 bhp and 160 Nm in turbo mode. Only the turbo variant has a CVT transmission option. It competes with the Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, and others.
