TVS Low-cost iQube: The TVS iQube has developed into the second-highest seller in the premium two-wheeler EV market. Now that TVS is creating a less expensive version for the Indian market. But, TVS had also been working on 'iQube ST', a more expensive model than its earlier ones . According to reports, this model has 4.56 kWh battery which would provide a substantially greater range.
What is the need behind this variant?
Following the roughly 50% (depending on the scooter) reduction in the FAME 2 subsidy in June 2023, EV sales numbers suffered significantly. Offering electric scooters with large batteries does not make financial sense with a significantly smaller subsidy, especially if a competitive price point is the top aim. It is reasonable to anticipate that many of the EVs which are now in the market will start to include smaller batteries, either as a distinct lower variety or generally with the same.
Know about the changes made
The regular iQube and iQube S, both of which feature the same 3.04kWh battery, make up the current iQube lineup. Long overdue, the yet-to-be-released iQube ST has a significantly larger 4.56kWh battery, but given the current lower subsidy, the future of that scooter is in doubt.
It makes sense that TVS will reduce the size of the battery pack because it is by far the most expensive part of an electric scooter, but it is unclear by how much.
TVS Low-cost iQube: Know about the features
The department of features is another place where TVS could make financial savings. Even in its most basic form, the iQube electric scooter has a TFT display. It is a fairly straightforward device with a low-cost model which may anticipated as something less complex could take its place.
