Volvo EX30 EV Car: With a range of 474 km and acceleration from 0-100kmph in just 3.6 secs, this electric car can give tough competition to Jeep Avenger EV

Volvo EX30 EV Car: The brand-new EX30, which is being positioned as the company’s entry-level electric SUV targeted at younger customers, has received its first batch of images and details from Volvo.Initally available in Australia, Japan, Thailand, and Europe, the EX30 will compete with the Jeep Avenger EV. The bulk of EX30 purchasers, who will make up three-quarters of the market, are expected to be first-time Volvo customers who are purchasing a second vehicle.

Equipped with many safety features

According to the manufacturer, the SUV doesn’t compromise on the brand’s renowned commitment to safety and has the least carbon footprint of any Volvo model to date. The EX30 not only looks the part, but it also performs well. The fastest-accelerating Volvo to date, the EX30 accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 3.6 seconds in top-spec Twin Motor Performance configuration.

Know about the interior

The dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch touchscreen that is positioned vertically, continuing the legacy of Volvo’s previous interior designs. Volvo’s Google-based system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powers the infotainment system. The typical door-mounted speakers have been replaced by a soundbar that spans the whole width of the dashboard.Interior storage is also emphasised, with a removable storage box and a dashboard glovebox-style multi-function centre console that are both positioned in the front. Volvo will offer four interior styles, or “rooms,” each made of various recyclable and renewable materials, one of which features repurposed denim fibre in the dashboard.

Know about the Range and battery

Three distinct powertrains and two different battery types will be available for the EX30. The entry-level single motor variants come with a 51kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery and a 271hp motor positioned at the rear. Its claimed range of 342km is made possible by this chemical, which is more affordable to produce.The single motor powertrain will also be available in Extended Range mode, increasing the range to 474 km with a claimed economy of 6 km/kWh by employing a 69 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery. The top-spec Twin Motor Performance variant, which adds a second 158hp electric motor to the front axle to give it a combined output of 427hp, also uses the same battery.

Volvo EX30 EV Car: Feature

The company claims the EX30 will be “as safe as you’d expect from a Volvo” despite not having the Lidar systems found on the flagship EX90. There has also been an emphasis on enhancing safety in urban settings. The doors will automatically sound an alarm if you are about to open them when a cyclist or pedestrian is nearby. Additionally, there are numerous “state-of-the-art” driving assistance systems, “state-of-the-art” restraint systems, and a new Park Pilot Assist function that can locate parking places and perform in a variety of situations. The company has kept a strong emphasis on digital technology, and it has developed a custom software that offers features like a digital key and remote-controlled heating.
