Statewide anti-drug push

The campaign, backed by the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, focuses on dismantling drug networks through continuous enforcement, intelligence-based operations, and coordination among agencies.

Focus on long-term impact

Authorities have emphasized that the aim is not just arrests, but breaking the supply chain and reducing drug abuse at the grassroots level. The sustained action reflects the state’s commitment to tackling the drug menace through strict law enforcement.

Enhanced surveillance and coordination

Officials indicate that increased surveillance, including monitoring of inter-district and inter-state routes, has played a key role in recent operations. Coordination between district police units and specialized task forces has improved the effectiveness of raids and arrests.

Community awareness and prevention efforts

Alongside enforcement, efforts are also being made to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. Police and local administration are engaging with communities, especially youth, to discourage substance use and promote rehabilitation.

Consistent pressure on drug networks

By maintaining daily crackdowns, the Punjab Police aims to keep constant pressure on trafficking networks, making it difficult for them to operate or regroup.

The Punjab Police has reiterated that such operations will continue with full intensity under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, with a focus on both enforcement and prevention.
