The Bhagwant Mann state government has hailed a major academic milestone as 305 students from government schools cleared JEE Main Session-1 this year, marking a sharp rise from 187 successful candidates last year. Officials described the jump as evidence of ongoing education reforms gaining traction at the grassroots level.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains thanked teachers for their dedication and credited improved classroom infrastructure, focused mentoring, and exam-oriented preparation programs for the significant improvement in results. He noted that government schools are increasingly competing with private institutions in national-level examinations.

Among the successful candidates, five students belong to the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, highlighting that progress is reaching smaller towns as well. The government emphasized that special coaching support, digital learning tools, and performance monitoring systems have been instrumental in strengthening academic outcomes.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann described the achievement as proof that sustained investment in public education can deliver measurable results. He reiterated that the administration’s priority is to ensure quality education accessible to every child, regardless of economic background.
Officials added that the state plans to further expand competitive exam support initiatives, science labs, and teacher training programs so that even more students from government schools can qualify for prestigious national examinations in the coming years.
