BIHAR: Lockdown ended, night curfew will remain in place

The lockdown has been ended in Bihar. Now there will be night curfew from 7 pm to 5 am. The decision to end the lockdown was taken in the meeting of the Disaster Management Group of Bihar.

Traveling is allowed in private vehicle. However, online classes will continue. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar informed by tweeting. The shops will open till 5 pm.

CM Nitish Kumar said that this arrangement will remain in place for next one week. The chief minister appealed to the people to Bihar to avoid crowded places.

CM Nitish Kumar said that there has been a decrease in COVID-19 infection due to the lockdown, so the night curfew will continue from 7:00 pm to 5:00.

Kumar said private offices will be allowed to reopen and function with 50 per cent staff. Government offices, which have so far been functioning with 25 per cent staff strength, can do so with half of employees reporting on a day.

Both government and private offices will be permitted to run till 4 pm. Shops, which had been allowed to remain open till 2 pm shall henceforth be required to down their shutters by 5 pm.

COVID-19 situation in Bihar:

On June 6, Bihar’s COVID-19 tally rose to 7,13,117 after the state reported 920 fresh cases, the lowest single-day spike in over two months, while 41 fresh fatalities pushed the coronavirus death toll to 5,381, a health bulletin said. The state now has 8,707 active cases while 6,99,028 people have been cured of the disease so far, taking the recovery rate to 98.02 per cent. A total of 1.11 crore people have been vaccinated, of whom nearly 20 lakh are in the 18-44 years age group.
