Amritsar Jamnagar Expressway: Rajasthan is to get a gift of new 6-lane Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway. It is going to provide a huge development in the infrastructure of the state. The expressway spans around 1316 km and passes through key districts of Rajasthan such as Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur etc. The expressway will improve connectivity among Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

Amritsar Jamnagar Expressway covers the distance of 1316 km. The Rajasthan section alone covers around 500 km from Jakhdawali village in Hanumangarh district to Khetlawas village in Jalore district.
• This expressway will improve connectivity of Rajasthan with its neighboring states Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat.
• Main districts of Rajasthan covered under this expressway are Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore.
• Travel time to be reduced by half as current time of 24 to 26 hours will be changed as 12 to 13 hours after it becomes operational.
• It is estimated to be completed by the end of this year.

• One main benefit of the expressway is ease in truck transportation and freight movement. Due to half travel time (26 hours to 13 hours)between Amritsar and Jamnagar, the movement of commercial vehicles will be much easier, especially trucks, that carry essential goods across states.
• Smoother roads, less fuel costs, less time will benefit logistics companies and truck drivers . This will help in supply chain efficiency improvement and boosting trade activities in Rajasthan and neighboring states.
• As per PM Narendra Modi , “This Greenfield Expressway is a new lifeline for the economic development of western India. It will create new employment opportunities and increase business potential across sectors.”
• Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also emphasised, “This project will boost connectivity, especially for rural districts, and will significantly reduce road travel time for truck operators and tourists alike.”
• The Amritsar Jamnagar Expressway will be able to directly connect oil refineries such as HMEL, HPCL and Reliance Jamnagar, and key seaports like Kandla and Jamnagar. This will strengthen national supply chains and make Rajasthan as a logistics hub.
Amritsar Jamnagar Expressway which is expected to be completed by the end of this year will provide many benefits to people of Rajasthan and nearby states. The distance between two cities will cut to half. This will save fuel costs which will also help to protect the environment.
