Petrol And Diesel Price Update: On Monday, August 7, the price of petrol and diesel stayed the same in major cities including New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. Because of value-added tax (VAT), freight costs, local taxes, etc., these differ from state to state.

In Bihar, petrol has decreased in price by 76 Rs and diesel by 71 rupees. In Uttar Pradesh, petrol and diesel are now 19 paise less expensive. In addition to this, several large states are experiencing an increase in the cost of gas and diesel.

In Rajasthan, the price of petrol has increased by 51 paise, while diesel has risen by 47 paise. In Madhya Pradesh, petrol has increased by 20 paise and diesel by 16 paise. Similarly, petrol and diesel prices are increasing in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

Petrol ans diesel price in major cities

In Delhi, petrol is currently priced at Rs 96.72 a litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 89.62 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol costs Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel costs Rs 94.27. While petrol costs Rs 106.03 per litre in Kolkata, diesel costs Rs 92.76. In Chennai, though, petrol costs Rs 102.63 and diesel costs Rs 94.24 a litre.

In India, petrol and diesel rates are set by oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. This is done on a daily basis, and rates are set in accordance with the global price of crude oil.
