Top 5 stocks of the day: Bajaj Auto, LTIMindtree, Hero MotoCorp, Nestle India, and UltraTech Cement are among the top gainers on the Nifty, while notable losses included Wipro, Tech Mahindra, UPL, Bharti Airtel, and Hindalco Industries. Sectorally, the auto index increased by 0.5 percent, while bank, metal, power, real estate, oil & gas, and pharmaceuticals all had decreases of 0.3 to 0.9 percent. The BSE Smallcap and Midcap indices had a flat closing session.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

Both the Sensex and the Nifty had dropped by 247.78 points and 0.38 percent, respectively, to settle at 65,629.24 and 19,624.70, respectively. 1810 shares went up, 1759 shares went down, and 129 shares remained the same. October 19 saw a decline in benchmark indices for the second straight session, with the Nifty closing below 19,650.

Biocon Biologics Ltd (BBL)

A subsidiary of Biocon, Biocon Biologics Ltd. (BBL) announced that Kedar Upadhye has been selected as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by the Board of Directors, with MB Chinappa, the existing CFO, moving on to assume a strategic finance job at Biocon Group. The alterations to the leadership will take effect on October 31, 2023.
