Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Germany on Monday on the first leg of his three-nation tour of Europe, where he will hold a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Apart from this, India-Germany will co-chair the Inter-Governmental Consultation Program. Indians gave a grand welcome to PM Modi in Germany, where PM Modi signed the paintings of children. PM Modi’s visit to Europe is taking place at a time when this region is facing many challenges and options. All countries want to strengthen India’s spirit of cooperation with its European partners.

India-Germany relations will be strengthened

In the first leg of the visit, PM Modi will hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin and the two leaders will also co-chair the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultative (IGC) meeting. During this, both the leaders will hold detailed bilateral discussions and will talk about strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

German companies will increase investment in India

On reaching Berlin, Modi tweeted, ‘ I have reached Berlin. Today I will talk to Chancellor Olaf Scholz and meet business leaders. I am sure that this visit will deepen the friendship between India and Germany.’ German companies can increase investment in India after PM Modi’s meeting with businessmen. Germany is the 7th largest foreign investment country in India and at present there are more than 1700 German companies doing business in India. Germany invested Rs 4,326 crore in India in the three quarters of 2021-22.

Will give new heights to Indo-German business

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the German Chancellor will also address a business event. During his visit, PM Modi will take the business relationship between India and Germany to a new height. India imports chemicals, auto components, pharmaceuticals, paper and printing materials from Germany, while exports food and beverages, machinery, medicines, textiles, leather, gems and jewelery and rubber products to Germany.

Defense trade with France

During PM Modi’s visit to France, the main focus will be on defense cooperation and trade. In France, PM Modi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron and hold talks on defense and security. The relationship between India and France in the defense sector is very old. France has been giving Jaguar and Mirage-2000 fighter aircraft to India. Apart from this, the advanced fighter aircraft Rafale has also reached India.

Will give new heights to India-France business

India’s strategic and trade business with France has been very good. After meeting Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi will take the business relationship between the two countries to a new height. PM Modi and Macron have met many times and the bonding between the two is very good. In such a situation, both the countries will move in the direction of further strengthening the relationship.

Trade relations between India and France have been very old and investment is expected to increase with this visit of PM Modi. In the year 2021-22, there has been a business of Rs 80320 crore between India and France, while between April 2000 and December 2021, France has invested about 62 thousand crore rupees in India.

India-Denmark relations will be strengthened

India’s relations with Denmark have been very close and after this visit of PM Modi, India-Denmark relations will be further strengthened. Denmark’s PM Mette Frederiksen had invited PM Modi to participate in the second Nordic summit during his visit to India.

Green strategic alliance will be discussed

In Denmark, Prime Minister Modi will hold discussions with his counterpart Mette Fredriksson. In this meeting, the leaders of both the countries will get an opportunity to review the progress made in India’s ‘Green Strategic Alliance’ with Denmark. Apart from this, both the leaders will also discuss bilateral relations and other issues.
