India's caseload of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) stands at 93.09 lakh after 44,489 infections were registered between Wednesday and Thursday, according to data released by the Union health ministry.
Delhi reports 5,475 fresh Covid cases, toll stays under 100 for 2nd day. The daily death toll due to Covid-19 in Delhi remained below 100 for the second consecutive day on Thursday even as new cases registered a marginal increase — from 5,246 on Wednesday to 5,475 on Thursday.
Telangana reported 761 fresh Coronavirus cases, taking the tally to over 2.67 lakh while four fatalities pushed the toll to 1,448, the state government said on Friday.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation accounted for the most number of cases with 136. As many as10,839 patients are under treatment and 42,242 samples were tested on Thursday. Cumulatively, over 53.32 lakh samples have been tested.

Nearly 70 per cent of Indians aged 10 and above were exposed to the SARS-CoV-2, according to ICMR’s second national serosurvey.
This amounted for an estimated 74.3 million infections by the month of August, it noted. An overall seroprevalence of below 10 per cent indicated that a large proportion of Indians are still susceptible to the virus.
