Covid-19 Update: The number of new coronavirus cases in India increased by 1,590 in a single day, the most in 146 days, and the total number of active infection increased to 8,601, according to the health ministry on Saturday.
According to data from the ministry updated at 8 am, the death toll from the viral infection has increased to 5,30,824 with six more fatalities, three reported from Maharashtra and one each in Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.
The weekly positivity was calculated at 1.23%, while the daily positivity was measured at 1.33%. The number of new instances has brought India’s COVID-19 total up to 4,47,02,257. According to the ministry’s website, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.79%, although the active cases make up only 0.02 percent of the total caseload.
There are now 4,41,62,832 patients who have recovered from the viral infection, and the case fatality rate was 1.19 percent. The website of the ministry reports that beneficiaries all throughout the nation have received 220.65 crore doses of anti-Covid vaccine.
