Delhi lockdown extended: lockdown extended for a week , metro service also stopped from yesterday

In view of the devastation of Corona in the capital of the country, the lockdown has been extended once again. There will now be a lockdown in Delhi till May 17.

It is known that there is a lockdown in the national capital since 19 April, which has been extended for the fourth time by the Arvind Kejriwal government.

During the lockdown, new cases of corona have come down significantly and the positivity rate has also been recorded significantly.

In such a situation, Kejriwal does not want to take any risk by removing the lockdown, so it has been increased.

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that since the lockdown, new cases of corona have started to decrease, the positivity rate has also started to come down. Now the positivity rate has come down to 23 percent. Kejriwal said that the most problem in Delhi is with oxygen.
The need for oxygen increased suddenly by leaps and bounds here. In the last several days, the oxygen situation in Delhi has improved now.

It was also reported in a survey that 85 percent of Delhi’s people were in favor of extending the Delhi lockdown timing by at least a week to prevent corona infection.

Apart from this, 47 percent had given opinion in favor of increasing the Delhi Lockdown Extension for three weeks.

This opinion has come in the survey of online forum Local Sarkal. The survey was conducted between 6 and 8 May. 84 percent of the people involved in the survey want to be allowed to supply all the goods at home without contact, so that the business continues and the customers do not have to face any trouble.

Kejriwal said that in the last few days, there were talks with businessmen, women and other people, all of them said that the cases have reduced but there is a need to maintain strictness. This time the metro also will not run.

Delhi CM Kejriwal said- ‘On April 20, lockdown had to be imposed under compulsion. On April 26, the positive rate had gone up to 35 percent, since then the cases started to decrease, the positive rate has come down to 23 percent in the last 2-3 days. You supported, improved health resources during the lockdown period. We felt a lack of oxygen, many times more oxygen was needed. There will no longer be a shortage of oxygen due to the Supreme Court and the High Court.

Kejriwal further said- ‘Vaccination is going well in Delhi. People around Delhi are also getting doses. Currently the vaccine is low, hope the central government will help. I spoke to traders and experts, all of whom believe that the lockdown should be increased. There is still a 23 percent positive rate. Our government is compulsively increasing the lockdown for a week. From tomorrow, Metro will also be closed in Delhi.

The country is currently struggling with the second wave of Corona. According to the Health Ministry data at 9 am on Sunday, 4,03,738 new cases of corona virus infection occurred in India in a single day. Now the total number of cases in the country has increased to 2,22,96,414. At the same time, after the death of 4,092 more patients, the total death toll increased to 2,42,362, while the rate of recovery of infected people is 82.15 percent.
