Ahoi Puja 2021: Today, women observe all day long fast for the well being of their children. According to Hindu calendar, this day is celebrated 8 days before Diwali and four days after Karwa Chauth, on Krishna Paksha Ashtami. This year, Ahoi Ashtami Tithi will begin at 12:49 PM on 28 October, and will end at 02:09 PM on 29 October 2021. The celebration is incomplete without some hot malpuas and halwa as prasad.
Recipe of Hot Malpuas
Ingredients
1 cup Suji or semolina
1/2 tsp Fennel Powder
1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Powdered Sugar
milk to prepare batter
saffron
cardamom
water
1/2 cup maida
Instructions
Step 1
In a pan, add water, add kesar strands and cardamom seeds.
Step 2
Cook till you get a syrup-like consistency. Take off the flame.
Step 3
Take half cup of milk in a bowl and add maida. Mix well to make a smooth paste.
Step 4
Now add sugar, fennel seeds or powder and baking powder. Mix to combine all ingredients.
Step 5
Now add milk to make the batter.
Step 6
On a non-stick pan, add some ghee. Using a spoon, spread malpua batter. Cook on both sides.
Step 7
Remove from ghee and dip in the sugar syrup for 1 minute.
Step 8
Serve hot with halwa or rabri.
