HEALTH: Try This Easy To Make Rice Crisps For Kids At Home

Nowadays children eat a lot of outside food. On the other hand there are many moms who do not want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. The culture of eating packaged foods and outside food has increased. Snacks, chips, biscuits, crisps and all such items are bought from the market. In order to keep children healthy you should keep a check on feeding them store bought food. Children should be fed only healthy and hygienic food that is prepared at home.

The recipe which you will be going to read is quick and easy to make. You don’t have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. You can have it as accompaniment with hot tea or soft drink. You must have eaten store bought rice crisps many times but you can try making these yummy rice crisps at home.

Ingredients for Rice crisp

1 Cup Rice Flour 

3 tbsp maida 

2 tbsp oil

1 tsp kasuri methi

1/2 tsp cumin seeds 

1/2 tsp red chilli 

salt to taste 

Oil to fry

Rice Crisp Recipe

To make dough, firstly take 1 cup of water and heat it. 

Add cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon of oil and salt to water and heat till it comes to a boil. 

Now switch off the gas and add 1 cup of rice flour to water and mix well. 

Cover the mixture and leave it for 5 minutes. Rice flour will absorb all the water and plump up.

Now add red chili powder and little kasuri methi crushed with your hands. 

As long as the mixture is warm, keep on adding little oil and knead well into a dough.

Rice flour is ready. Now pinch small balls from the dough.

Now sprinkle dry flour on all the balls and roll it out thinly in a circular shape.

Heat oil in a pan and fry all the crisps one by one until it turns crispy. While frying, keep the flame medium high. 

When all the crisps are fried, sprinkle a little chaat masala over it. Crunchy rice crisps are ready. 

After cooling, store them in an airtight container. You can enjoy these crunchy rice crisps with a steaming cup of ‘chai’.
