IMD Predicts Light Rain

IMD Predicts Light Rain: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of light rain with strong winds in some parts of Delhi-NCR today. Sunday morning was pleasant for those living in the national capital. The Safdarjung observatory recorded a low of 30 degrees Celsius at 9 am.

The IMD said that not only Delhi-NCR, but also the northwestern plains will get some respite from the scorching heat after May 1, as rain may occur in the next few days due to western disturbances. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in the dry areas of the north-western plains including Delhi-NCR.

The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky with thunder and rain at different places. The IMD’s bulletin said that heat wave conditions are expected to continue over Delhi and adjoining areas for the next three days, while dust storm or thundershower conditions would occur at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi till May 2. There is a possibility of splashing together.

IMD said that for the second time in 72 years, Delhi has experienced such severe heat in April in which the monthly average maximum temperature was 40.2 degree Celsius.

Generally, the normal monthly average temperature of Delhi in April is 36.30 degree Celsius. In 2010, Delhi recorded an average monthly maximum temperature of 40.4 °C.

Delhi experienced severe heat for three days in April as there was no light rain on time. Delhi recorded a monthly average maximum temperature of 37.30 °C in April last year, 35.30 °C in 2020 and 37.30 °C in 2019.
