KKR make playoff case stronger with thumping win over RR, Sanju Samson, KL Rahul sides out of playoff race, MI in search of 171 run win

Kolkata Knight Rider have almost sealed their spot into the playoffs as they registered a massive win by 86 runs over Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah on Thursday.

Chasing the tarhet of 172, Rajasthan Royals were reduced to 17/4 in the powerplay where all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan struck on the third ball of the RR’s innings.

Shivam Mavi was the standout performer in the game with his career best figures of 4/21 while Lokie Ferguson scalped three wickets and gave away 18 runs.

With this win, KKR have demolished the hopes of Rajasthan Royals and Pubjab Kings for playoff race while Mumbai Indians’ hopes are also dented. MI need to win by 171 runs vs SunRisers Hyderabad tomorrow to get through which is almost impossible.
