Maharashtra Political Crisis : Uddhav Thackeray May Resign

Maharashtra Political Crisis: In the midst of the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra for the past few days, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray may resign from his post today. Sources said that Uddhav Thackeray can offer his resignation late this evening. He has called a cabinet meeting to meet his MLAs and MPs, where he will explain his position. After this he (Uddhav Thackeray) can present his resignation.

It is believed that Thackeray may hold a private meeting with Sharad Pawar before resigning from his post. At the same time, the leader of the Congress party can also talk to Balasaheb and tell him his position. Congress sources are telling that the government has come in minority and Congress is aware of this.

The Shiv Sena government, which is in power in Maharashtra, is in trouble. Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray’s son and cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray has also removed the post of minister from his Twitter bio.

Speaking to the media earlier in the day, NCP MLA and Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said, “I have not heard (about CM resigning) so far. I don’t know anything about it. What Sanjay Raut said, I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, AICC observer for Maharashtra Kamal Nath asserted, “Congress is supporting the MVA government and will continue to do so. I wanted to meet Uddhav Thackeray. But he is COVID positive. I assured him that Congress will continue to support MVA government.” Categorically ruling out the resignation of the Maharashtra CM, senior Congress leader and Minister Balasaheb Thorat stressed, “No, he won’t (resign)”. As per the CMO, Thackeray is addressing the Cabinet meeting via video conferencing.
