Menstrual and reproductive health issues remain a common concern for women in THIS part of India

Menstrual cycle issues and reproductive health related problems have become a matter of special concern for women in the North East region. Gynoveda conducted a survey on more than 500 women from North East regions and found that 98 percent women of this area have gone through these problems or are still facing them. This alarming figure is indicating further understanding of vaginal health care and prevention of diseases related to it.

PCOD is a common disease found in women

In the survey conducted by Gynoveda, 55% women were suffering from menstrual health issues and the most common disease found among the patients was Polycystic Ovarian Disorder (PCOD). During the survey it was found that 36% women were suffering from PCOD. PCOD is a hormonal disorder that leads to menstrual irregularities, fertility issues and other complications. Apart from this, the most common menstrual issue is Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), which 12% of women were struggling with. PMS is the physical and emotional symptoms that women suffers before their periods.

Talking about vaginal health problems, 24% of women suffer from Pelvic Inflammatory Disorder (PID). Many people have no idea about this disease. Pelvic Inflammatory Disorder is an infection of the reproductive organs of women which can lead to infertility, pelvic pain and other problems. Apart from this, Candidiasis which is a fungal infection, also known as yeast infection is a vaginal disease. 18% of women in the North East region are suffering from this disease.

Common vaginal and menstrual problems that are matter of concern

PCOD (PolyCystic Ovarian Disorder), PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disorder), Candidiasis, PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), Fibroids and Endometrial Hyperplasia are a cause of concern among women in the North East region.
