MG Motors plans to launch a new Micro EV in India, Company’s future plans and all you must know

MG Motors: Only a few years ago, MG Motors made its way to India, where it quickly became popular for offering vehicles with lots of features. The Comet EV, which topped the list of the best-selling electric cars in the nation last month, was just introduced by MG to the Indian market. The business has filed a design patent for a mini EV in order to diversify its EV portfolio.

New micro-EV design patent application by MG Motor. In comparison to the incredibly small and attractive-looking MG Comet EV, the new MG Micro EV sports a more notable form. Although the dimensions are smaller, it has the same design as a typical SUV. The firm hasn’t made any official announcements about this future EV, either.

MG Baojun Yep details

The China-spec Yep‘s exterior is characterised by straightforward square LED headlamps, a tough bumper design, quad-LED daytime running lights, robust wheel arches with 15-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, plastic cladding on its bottom half, an optional LED display at the tailboard, etc.

The Yep is a four-person, electric vehicle with a classic design that we can see inside. It is equipped with a rear-view camera, ADAS capabilities, a rear-view steering wheel, a few buttons for AC controls, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, and more.

One electric motor, placed on the back axle, is part of the Yep concept. With a range of up to 303 km, the device produces about 67 horsepower and 140 Nm.

MG’s Plan

In the coming years, MG Motor wants to encourage the sale of electric vehicles in the Indian market so that they make up more than 60% of its overall sales. The car manufacturer intends to release a number of new electric vehicles over the following five years, including the recently patented Micro EV. MG Motor has stated intentions to invest over Rs 5,000 crore in order to achieve this. Additionally, the business will work with a joint venture to study hydrogen fuel-cell technology.
