Amit Shah to be summoned by Bengal court over Abhishek Banerjee case

A summons has been issued to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a defamation case filed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. The Special MP / MLA Court issued summons to Union Home Minister Amit Shah asking him to appear in person or through a lawyer on 22 February. Abhishek Banerjee’s lawyer Sanjay Basu had claimed that Amit Shah had made derogatory statements against the TMC MP during a BJP rally in Kolkata.

Court order, Amit Shah to present himself or through lawyer
The Special Judge of the MP / MLA court has directed Amit Shah to appear in person or through a lawyer by 10 am on February 22. The judge has directed that Shah’s presence is necessary either by himself or through a lawyer to answer in a defamation case filed under section 500 of the IPC.

What is the matter?
Abhishek Banerjee had filed a defamation case against Shah during a rally in Kolkata on 11 August 2018, objecting to Amit Shah’s statements. Shah had said in that rally that Narada, Sharda, Rose Valley, Syndicate Corruption, Nephew Corruption took place under Mamata ji’s rule. Abhishek Banerjee mentioned another statement of Shah in his complaint. In this statement, Shah had said that where did Modi ji send 3 lakh 59 thousand crore rupees to the people of the villages of Bengal? The money was gifted to the nephew and the syndicate.

Recently, Mamta Banerjee had attacked Amit Shah at a rally and said that before taking me from the front, if Shah wants to face my nephew Abhishek. If you have the courage, then show them by contesting against Abhishek Banerjee. Elections are to be held in the state in the next few months. With this, new attitudes are seen daily in the political turmoil.

BJP is saying ‘realtor nephew’, Abhishek Banerjee is pursuing case
In fact, the political rhetoric has begun as soon as the assembly elections in West Bengal are close. The entire BJP leadership, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is an attacker on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee. In this election, an address like ‘Tolabaz Bheepo’ means ‘realizer nephew’ for Abhishek Banerjee has also been used. Before Amit Shah, Abhishek Banerjee has also filed a defamation suit against Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh.

‘I will hang myself if the charges are proved’
However, on the allegations leveled against him, Abhishek Banerjee has been clarifying on several occasions. Addressing a rally in Dakshin Dinajpur last month, Abhishek said, “If it is proved that I am a recovering nephew, then take me to the gallows, I will hang myself.” You don’t even need ED and CBI. ‘
