First installment given to PMAY-G beneficiaries in Tripura, PM Modi said- Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas will be celebrated every year on 15th November

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday transferred the first installment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) to more than 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura. PM Modi transferred money to the accounts of the beneficiaries through video conferencing. More than Rs 700 crore was deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is also participating in this program. At the same time, Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh also participated in this program.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, it is our endeavor that the common man of the country should neither wander for any scheme nor his money should be snatched by any middleman. He said, transparent selection in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, geo-tagging of houses, name announcement in Gram Sabha, fair survey and DBT are part of this thinking. You will also remember the earlier governments, where no work was done without cut culture.

Addressing the people, PM Modi said, today the first installment given under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has given a new impetus to the dreams of Tripura. I heartily congratulate all the people of Tripura, about one and a half lakh families who got the benefit of the first installment. He said, now the thinking that keeps Tripura poor, keeps the people of Tripura away from amenities, has no place in Tripura. Now here the government of double engine is engaged in the development of the state with full force and sincerity.

Now every year on 15th November, the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda will be celebrated as Tribal Gaurav Diwas.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that the installment has been released keeping in mind the unique geo-climatic situation of Tripura. For this, PM Modi himself took the initiative and now the definition of ‘kutcha house’ has been changed here. In this way, people living in kutcha houses are being given pucca houses. Chief Minister Biplab Deb has thanked Prime Minister Modi for transferring the first installment. ‘Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin’ is one of the ambitious schemes of PM Modi.
