Mamata Banerjee In Goa Fiercely Targets BJP

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee in Goa has been fiercely targeting the BJP

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee in Goa has been fiercely targeting the BJP as well as the Congress during the Goa tour. In her election rally on Monday, she said that her intention is not to divide votes against the ruling BJP but to consolidate votes.

Mamata Banerjee had addressed the first election meeting in Benaulim on Monday. On Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee will address two meetings. She will hold a public meeting in Panaji, Goa at 3 pm on Tuesday and Asanora at 5 pm.

Addressing a rally in Goa’s Benaulim, Mamata Banerjee attacked not only the BJP but also the Congress and said that no party has the sole claim on the opposition territory. She said, “I do not want to speak against the Congress. You (Congress) want to join, join us. Just because you’re not doing something then no one else will? This is not right… If someone wants to defeat BJP, it is up to them to support us.”

During her rally, local MLA Churchill Alemao of the Nationalist Congress Party welcomed Mamata Banerjee

On her two-day visit to Goa, Mamata said, “Once the Left Front government was in power in West Bengal, Mother Teresa called me in the middle of the night and said, ‘Mamata, those Leftists are occupying one of our houses. Can you help me?’ I went there and sorted it out and saved them.”

The TMC chief said, “I must remember the day when the Babri Masjid was demolished. There was a huge communal authority everywhere in Kolkata. I was there on the road. There was no government (presence) on the street. Then I met Mother Teresa at the Catholic-run Loreto School. She said to me: ‘Mamata, what are you doing here?’ And I asked her, ‘What are you doing here?’

Mamata Banerjee told the gathering that the Vatican had invited her for Mother Teresa canonical ceremony, which she accepted. During this, the West Bengal government celebrated Christmas on a large scale in Kolkata. In Goa, assembly elections are to be held in early 2022, in such a situation, Mamata Banerjee is trying many tricks to give competition to the BJP so that the TMC-led government is formed in the Christian-majority state.
