MP Manoj Kumar Jha of the RJD bring out Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar’s attention over remark of Union minister Piyush Goyal on Bihar. Jha said when he was speaking in the House, Goyal suddenly said, “Inka bas chale toh desh ko Bihar hi bana dein (if they have their way, they will turn the country into Bihar).”
Jha seek House Leader Goyal’s apology to the people of Bihar and urged Dhankhar to wipe out the "elitist, sneering, contemptuous and condescending" remark made by Goyal.
Tejashwi Yadav Bihar deputy chief minister, wrote on Twitter, “Look at the insult of Bihar and Biharis and an unwise and arrogant Union minister.”
Meanwhile Goyal has withdrawn his remark by saying he didn't intend to insult the Bihar or its people.
Union Minister's statement inappropriate: Manoj Jha
Union Minister Piyush Goyal's statement is completely unfair. Through the letter, Manoj Jha has also alleged that the central governments have neglected Bihar all the time and the people of Bihar have been considered as second class citizens. Manoj Jha has also urged Vice President Dhankhar to issue an order to remove Goyal's statement from the records of the House as well and ask him to apologise. Also appealed to take such steps that the central government should not say such things for any other state.
Protests in parliament
On the other hand, RJD-JDU MPs protested in front of the Gandhi statue in Parliament over the remarks made on Bihar by the leader of the House and Union Minister Piyush Goyal in the Rajya Sabha. On his controversial statement on Bihar, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said in Parliament on Friday that I have no intention of insulting Bihar or the people of Bihar. If it has hurt anyone's sentiments, I immediately withdraw that statement.
