PM Dig At Selective Humans Rights Concern

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opens up over the double standards of those who raise their concern on human rights as per their political agenda, claiming that such conduct is harmful to India’s image.

“Selective interpretation” as it is against the very concept of human rights, PM Modi warns without mentioning anyone.

PM Modi at the 28th National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Foundation Day program says “some people see human rights violations in certain incidents but not in other similar incidents. Human rights are violated when viewed through the lens of politics. Selective behaviour is harmful to democracy and tarnishes the nation’s image. We must be wary of such politics.”

The NHRC plays an important role by protecting the rights and dignity of the marginalised, he said.

PM further adds in the past few years, there have been several times when the whole world was misguided and lost their way, but India has always been committed to human rights.

“India is going ahead with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’. In a way, it also works on basic principle of ensuring human rights for all. We are going ahead with the goal of ensuring that everyone gets the benefits of all schemes,” PM Modi said.

After understanding the requirements of poor Indian government is connecting the them to all welfare schemes, PM Modi said.

“Schemes can only benefit the poor when their needs are understood,” he noted.
