PM Modi Distributes 51,000 CAPF Appointment Letters in Rozgar Mela, Kharge Hits Back with ‘Those also Include Promotions’

PM Modi: In a critical remark aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in relation to the Rashtriya Rozgar Mela, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge commented on Monday that Modi is distributing recruitment letters akin to “EMIs” – standing for “Empty Manipulative Installments.” Kharge alleged that the appointment letters issued by Modi also encompass individuals receiving promotions. These remarks from Kharge emerged before the Prime Minister’s scheduled distribution of over 51,000 appointment letters to recently enlisted recruits during the Rozgar Mela event.

PM Modi distributed appointment letter at Rozgar Mela

Earlier, On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to recently onboarded government recruits during the Rozgar Mela via video conferencing. Significantly, the Rozgar Mela initiative was inaugurated in October of the previous year, and the event on Tuesday took place across 45 centers.

Kharge hits back with response

Taking to X (Formerly Twitter), Kharge said, “EMI — Empty Manipulative Instalments. By promising 2 crore jobs to youths per year, Modi ji is distributing jobs to a few thousand youths in the form of EMI. Today he will also do the same. It has come to notice that in the list of new appointees to the government departments, there are many who are getting promotions.”

Explaining his point, he cited instances such as those provided by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Mohali during April of this year. In this case, 15 individuals received appointment letters, while the decision was made to elevate 21 individuals through promotions. These appointment letters were disbursed as part of the Rozgar Mela event. Likewise, at the Maulana Azad National Urdu University in April 2023, 38 appointment letters were extended. However, it’s worth noting that among these 38, 18 recipients were individuals receiving promotions.

Where will newly appointed join?

The recently inducted recruits, chosen from different regions of the country, will be taking on diverse roles, including constable (general duty), sub-inspector (general duty), and non-general duty cadre positions across various organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Furthermore, it’s noteworthy that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has set its sights on enlisting personnel for roles within central armed police forces (CAPFs) like the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Delhi Police, utilizing the Rozgar Mela as a platform for recruitment.
