Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has got permission to go to Agra. UP Police had detained Priyanka Gandhi. In fact, in the case of the death of a sweeper in police custody, Priyanka was going to Agra to meet the family members of the slain person. While taking him into custody, the UP Police had said that the Congress leader did not have the necessary permission. In a tweet, Priyanka had targeted the Yogi Adityanath government of UP regarding this incident in Agra. He wrote in his tweet, ‘Where is the justice to beat someone to death in police custody? The incident of Arun Valmiki’s death in Agra Police Custody is condemnable. On the day of Lord Valmiki Jayanti, the UP government has acted against his messages. High-level investigation and action should be taken against the police and compensation to the victim’s family.
Earlier, UP Police had said this morning that during interrogation, Arun Valmiki’s health deteriorated and he died. SSP Agra Muniraj said that Arun was ill when his house was raided on Tuesday night. He was taken to the hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead. Arun is accused of stealing money from a building used as evidence locker of the police station, where he was working as a cleaner, on Saturday night.

It is worth noting that recently Priyanka was going to meet the families of the victims killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, even then she was stopped and taken into custody. At that time Priyanka had said that she was kept in custody without any basis. Priyanka had said that when I was arrested, I was traveling in Sitapur district, which is about 20 km from the border of Lakhimpur Kheri district. To my knowledge section 144 was not applicable in Sitapur. Well, after being kept in custody, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were allowed to go to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the victim’s family.
