On the same day, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) fact-checking fact unit reported his tweet as being a hoax. BJP leader Amit Kothari filed a police complaint in Ahmedabad after this Tweet, which resulted in his detention.

His statement on the Twitter was flagged as fake by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) fact check fact unit  on the same day itself. Following this Tweet, BJP leader Amit Kothari had filed the police complaint in Ahmdabad that led to his arrest.

While being taken from the cyber-crime police station to a local court , he retorted his irony and stated that he’s been arrested for a tweet on the PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Morbi after a bridge collapse, while “Oreva owner is free”. Strong outcry from Trinamool Congress in defense of Saket Gokhale

Derek O’Brian, a Rajya Sabha member for the Trinmool party, described Seket Gokhale’s arrest as a political vendetta in a tweet. Later, Saket Gokhale’s mother and Derek O’Brian arrived in Ahmedabad to support him in his legal defence.

The West Bengal Chief Minister said this was a vengeful act of the Modi Government and that she condemned it while speaking to reporters in Ajmer. She went on to say that Saket Gokhale had only tweeted the content he believed to be news report

The tragedy in Gujarat’s Morbi town is at the centre of debate; an investigation there has indicated that the municipal authorities were at fault because the renovation contractor allegedly did not follow the rules when renovating and reopening the colonial-era suspension bridge.

On November 1, PM Modi travelled to the town in his home state, where he met the injured people ,besides going to the tragedy site.
