Why was the number of jets reduced from 126 to 36, questions Shashi Tharoor

Politics in India has intensified after the appointment of a judge by the French government to investigate the Rafale deal. The war of words between the leaders of BJP and Congress is also continuing. In this sequence, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has also attacked the BJP in a series of tweets regarding this deal. He questioned the BJP as to why the deal for 126 Rafale jets was reduced to 36.

He said that the BJP is claiming that it was not a unilateral decision but a decision taken as per the demand of the Army. But I want to ask that when 126 Rafale jets were dealt, why was it reduced to 36.

He said that according to the French investigation, French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation had paid a huge amount to an Indian middleman to secure the deal. He said that Dassault Aviation claims to have struck a deal with Sushen Gupta for 50 aircraft. In the official account, it was described as a gift for client.
