Sanjay Raut Detained: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has tightened the noose on Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in the money laundering case related to the Patra Chawl scam. ED has taken Sanjay Raut into custody after about 9 hours of interrogation. In connection with the money laundering case, the ED team had reached the residence of Shiv Sena MP in Mumbai this morning. The ED had issued several summons against Raut, he was also summoned on July 27.
According to the report, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials reached Sanjay Raut’s house at around 7 am. CRPF officers were also present along with the ED team.
ED team is interrogating Sanjay Raut in Patra Chawl land scam case and launched a search operation at home. After this Sanjay Raut was taken into custody.
Amidst all this action, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut tweeted that the fight between Maharashtra and Shiv Sena will continue. He wrote in the next tweet, False action.. False evidence.. I will not leave Shiv Sena.. Even if I die, I will not surrender. Jai Maharashtra.’
He further wrote, I have nothing to do with any scam. I am saying this by taking oath as Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray.. Balasaheb has taught us to fight.. I will continue to fight for Shiv Sena.
It is to be known that in the month of April this year, the ED had temporarily attached properties worth more than Rs 11.15 crore of Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut and two of his associates as part of its investigation. The attached properties are in the form of land near Palghar, Saphale (city in Palghar) and Padgha (in Thane district) of Praveen M Raut, Sanjay Raut associate and former director of Guru Ashish Construction Pvt Ltd.
The ED said in a statement that the attached properties include a flat of Varsha Raut in Dadar suburb of Mumbai and eight plots at Kihim Beach in Alibaug, which are jointly owned by Varsha Raut and Sujit Patkar wife Swapna Patkar.
