Sources: Union Cabinet approves 3% hike in DA

The Union Cabinet has approved a three percent increase in Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and pensioners receiving salary and pension on the basis of the Seventh Pay Commission.

After the implementation of this hike, now 34 percent dearness allowance will be paid to central employees and pensioners instead of 31 percent.

After this increase of 3% in dearness allowance, all those who are paid on the basis of 7th Pay Commission will get an increase of Rs 540 in DA on the basic salary of Rs 18,000, and this increase will be Rs 750 per month if the basic salary is 25,000.

Similarly, those getting 50,000 basic salary will get a benefit of Rs 1,500 per month, and those getting basic salary basic salary Rs 1,00,000 will get a benefit of Rs 3,000 in total salary after 3 per cent increase in dearness allowance.

This decision of the Central Government to increase DA will be applicable from January 1, 2022, and according to the rules, the government employees-pension holders will also be given arrears from January till the implementation of the decision.

With this decision, about 48 lakh employees-officers of the central government and 69 lakh people getting pension will be benefited.
