UP govt announces 48 hours of free bus ride on Rakshabandhan

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a big decision for women in view of the festival of Rakshabandhan.

The Chief Minister has said that women traveling in Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses will not be charged any fee for their travel on the festival of Raksha Bandhan. After this announcement of CM, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the women. Now Women’s will be able to easily travel from one place to another to tie Rakhi to her brothers.

The UP government government has announced that most of the women travel by UPSRTC buses on the festival day. In such a situation, it has been decided that no fee will be charged from women on any route. In addition, women can travel free of cost in UPSRTC buses from the midnight of August 10 to the midnight of August 12, marking the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

An official of the Transport Corporation said that on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation has been provided free travel facility in buses for the safe travel of all the women of the state. Any women who want to travel by corporation buses can come from one place to another for free.

However with an aim to mark the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the UP CM said that women can travel for free for 48 hours from the midnight of August 10 to the midnight of August 12.
