On the lines of NCR, a state capital region will be formed in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi has ordered to prepare a proposal for ‘Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region’ by including Lucknow and surrounding districts. CM Yogi has also said that land mafia is not accepted in UP, development authority and urban bodies should take more swift action against land mafia.
On Friday, CM Yogi reviewed the Housing and Urban Planning Department, Housing Development Council and Urban Development Authorities and gave necessary guidelines. CM said that development authorities should make spontaneous efforts for investment, employment and innovation. He said that Solar City Ayodhya will give the message of energy conservation to the world. The Chief Minister has also sought a proposal for the second phase of Lucknow Metro during this period.
The Chief Minister said that due to the inspiration of the Prime Minister, there has been an unprecedented expansion in world-class urban infrastructure facilities in Uttar Pradesh in the last five years. Be it state-of-the-art urban transport like RRTS and Metro or pure drinking water, development of integrated townships, speed of expressways or waste management system, with the help of technology in every area, the common city dweller is experiencing ‘Ease of Living’.
According to the vision of the Prime Minister, if we have to achieve the target of $1 trillion economy, then we have to increase urbanization. The role of development authorities is very important in this. We have to give a model of urban planning. All the authorities should make such efforts according to their vision.
Plan keeping in mind the situation of the next 50 years- CM
He said that while deciding the development projects, keep in mind the situation of the next 50 years. The master plan should contain a complete blueprint of the planned development. Town planner should be posted in every development authority/urban body. Authorities will also have to seriously consider doing financial management for their projects on their own. Whether to set up new cities or any other green field project, their planning should be such that commercial activities can be encouraged here. This will generate income for the authority, which can be used in the related project.
Every colony should have all the necessary facilities- CM
CM said that all the authorities, local bodies should ensure that illegal settlements/residential colonies should not be settled anywhere under any circumstances. Every colony should have all the necessary facilities. Work should be done expeditiously on the action plan to develop Ayodhya as a solar city. This effort will give a unique identity to Ayodhya on the global stage. The whole world will get a great message of energy conservation from Ayodhya. The art of murals at historical places, associated with Ram Katha gallery, open air theater should be completed on time. Cultural mapping of Ramayana tradition should be done. Similarly, action should be taken to get Ramayana galleries constructed on Ram Van Gaman Path.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the service of Metro in the capital Lucknow is very much liked by the common people. Before the Covid period, about 72000 passengers have been taking advantage of this service every day, now once again the number of passengers in the metro has been undone. A proposal for the development of the next phase of Lucknow Metro should be prepared and presented in a week. It should be expanded to include the area of Gokul and Baldev in Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority. A formal proposal should be prepared in this regard.
