Delhi Pollution: Schools will not open in Delhi, only online classes will run

In view of the problem of pollution in the national capital Delhi, the Delhi Government has decided to keep all the schools closed for the time being. The Education Department has issued an order and has kept the schools closed till further orders, but online classes will continue during this time.


Earlier on November 14, in view of the pollution situation, the Delhi government had closed all schools for a week and instructed to continue online classes. Along with this, the government had ordered the employees of all government offices to work from home.

The air quality in the national capital was also recorded in the ‘very poor’ category on Sunday. However, due to strong winds, it is expected to improve significantly by Monday. Around 9 am on Sunday, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 347, which falls in the very severe category. On Saturday, this figure was 377. This information has been received from the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Meanwhile, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai will hold a high-level meeting with senior officials on Monday to review the restrictions imposed in the city to check excessive pollution.
