Rahul Gandhi: Senior Congress Party Leader Rahul Gandhi has remarked that the Indian government has been left exposed after the shocking “fraud” of Galgotias University. At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the Greater Noida-based educational university that claims to be the “best private university in India” showcased a Chinese made imported hardware in the guise of indigenous innovation.
Rahul Gandhi remarked that the ongoing AI Summit is nothing but a form of disorganized public relation spectacle. Gandhi claimed that the AI summit features products made in China and the data of billions of Indians have been put by the government on sale.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 was attended by thousands of several representatives of global Information Technology firms, international delegates, political representatives and startup founders.
Rahul Gandhi-The Galgotias University Controversy
The “fake Made in India and built from scratch” product’s name was Orion robodog, which is a Chinese product that was imported by the University. In a shared video, Professor Neha Singh from Galgotias University claimed that was the robodog was a result of the University’s Centre of Excellence. She went on to claim that the University has made an investment of about $39 million in the context of artificial intelligence.

Social Media Reactions
Many social media users blasted Galgotias University and its fake narratives claiming that the Orion robodog was their creation. Several politicians and media personalities also took to X and Instagram saying that the accreditation of the university should be immediately cancelled as it has deliberately tarnished the country’s impeccable image before the world.
A social media user commented, “Claiming Chinese products as your own does not suit the digital age at all. Today, if you copy or steal, you will be exposed sooner or later.” Another user commented, “India has the talent and the data to be a global AI superpower, yet the #IndiaAISummit2026 is being defined by a Chinese “robodog” fiasco.”
