School-College closed in Bengal, all offices will be functioning at 50 percent capacity

In view of the increasing cases of corona, the West Bengal government has announced new restrictions on Sunday. The government has decided to close all the schools and colleges from Monday. Also, instructions have been issued to work in government and private offices with 50 percent capacity. On Saturday, 4512 cases of corona were reported in Bengal. The active cases of corona in the state have reached 13,300. Bengal ranks third in terms of active cases of corona after Maharashtra and Kerala.

An order has also been issued to close the gym, swimming pool, beauty salon. In government and private offices, only 50 percent of the employees will be able to come to the office in a day. Direct flights to the UK, which is facing a huge number of cases of the Omicron variant of Corona, have been stopped even before arrival at Kolkata airport.

States like Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, there will be night curfew in Bengal from 10 pm to 5 am. Only emergency services will be able to continue during the night curfew period. Apart from schools and colleges, universities will also remain closed.

Bengal Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi said that only 50 percent capacity will be allowed in government and private offices. Administrative work will also be handled virtually. More and more work will be encouraged to do work from home.

Kolkata Metro service will also be run with 50 percent capacity. Local trains will be operated only till 7 pm. However, long distance trains will continue to run as per their schedule. Cinema halls, bars, restaurants will also run with 50 percent capacity and shows will run only till 10 pm.

Shopping malls can be opened from 10 am to 5 pm, but here also 50 percent capacity will be applicable. Only 50 people will be able to attend weddings, social, religious and cultural events.

Whereas only 20 percent of the people will be allowed to go to the funeral. So far 20 cases of Omicron have been found in Bengal, but the rapidly increasing covid case has raised alarm bells.
