Shobhit University, Gangoh, a State Private University established under the U.P. Private Universities Act, has announced the appointment of Prof. Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu as its new Vice Chancellor. Dr. Sidhu’s appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the institution’s leadership with an experienced and accomplished academician and administrator from the field of technical and higher education.
An accomplished leader in academic administration, Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu brings extensive experience in faculty development, institutional management, and the promotion of technical education. Over his distinguished career, he has held several key leadership positions in prominent universities across Punjab, earning widespread recognition for his contributions to academic excellence and research advancement.
Most recently, Dr. Sidhu served as Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University. Prior to this, he held the position of Vice Chancellor at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University from April 2021 to November 2023, where he guided institutional initiatives during a transformative period. He has also served as Academic Dean at I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, where he played a pivotal role in curriculum development and academic planning.
Prof. Ranjit Singh, the former Vice Chancellor, has successfully completed his tenure and handed over charge to Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu. The university expresses its gratitude for Prof. Ranjit Singh’s valuable contributions to the institution’s growth and development during his tenure.
