Actor Anil Kapoor has revealed that he was offered a cameo in Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar 2, but he had to refuse it because of prior commitments. The actor spoke about this while promoting his recent film Subedaar. He admitted that missing the film feels like a loss, but he does not regret choosing professionalism.
Anil Kapoor Claims He Rejected Dhurandhar 2
In an interview with India Today, Anil said filmmaker Aditya Dhar personally approached him for the sequel to Dhurandhar. The first film was a huge success, and the second part is one of the most awaited releases this year. However, Anil had already given his dates to another filmmaker, so he could not accept the offer.
He said, “Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo in the film. But the reason I am what I am today is because of my professionalism and my commitment. That’s very important–only talent cannot make you what you are. At that time, I had already committed those dates to another filmmaker. I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this cameo, but I’m already committed.’ He is releasing the film now, and it’s a fantastic film. It’s my loss, but it’s okay.”

Anil said that keeping promises is very important in the film industry. He explained that cancelling dates at the last moment would have been unfair to the filmmaker he had already committed to. The actor also added that such situations can happen to anyone.
He shared, “At least I know in the back of my mind that it can happen to him as well – there could be another filmmaker who has just delivered a big blockbuster and offers me something when I’m already committed to Aditya. If I then go and do that film and cancel his dates, that would be completely unprofessional. So yes, he did offer me the role, and hopefully we will work together in the future.”

Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor is currently appearing in Subedaar, directed by Suresh Triveni. The film was released on Prime Video on March 5. It also stars Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Radhikka Madan, Aditya Rawal and Faisal Malik.
The story follows Arjun Maurya, a retired army officer who struggles to adjust to normal life after years in service. He deals with personal loss, family problems and a fight against a local sand-mining mafia.
Critics praised Anil Kapoor’s performance, but the film received mixed reviews overall. Many felt the story was predictable and the second half became loud and old-style. Some also said the screenplay could have been stronger.
