About His FIL’s Demise
Arjun’s FIL (Rakesh Chandra Swami – aged 73) had recently suffered a head injury and was under treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. According to family sources, he was about to have dinner when he suddenly suffered a stroke and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator. Despite medical care, he passed away in the afternoon of January 1.
A family member told Hindustan Times, “He was fit and fine, set to have dinner when suddenly he suffered a stroke and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was on a ventilator. The entire family is in shock, as Neha and Arjun had met the family before flying off. It was a sudden shock, and we are all still grappling with the situation.”
Swami is survived by his daughter Neha and son Nishank. The timing of the tragedy, during New Year celebrations, has made it even harder for the family. Arjun, who had travelled to Dubai for New Year, immediately returned to Mumbai upon hearing the news.
