Baaghi 4 Box Office Collection Day 1: Tiger Shroff Starrer Opens 31% Lower Than Its Predecessor, The Conjuring Last Rites Rules BO

Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 opened at Rs 12 crore on day one, much lower than Baaghi 3. Meanwhile, Hollywood’s The Conjuring Last Rites dominated with Rs 18 crore, setting a new record for horror films in India.

Tiger Shroff’s much-awaited action film Baaghi 4 hit theatres on Friday but failed to make a strong impression on day one. Despite being part of a popular franchise, the movie’s opening was weaker than its predecessors and was overshadowed by Hollywood’s horror release The Conjuring Last Rites.

Baaghi 4 Box Office Collection Day 1

According to early trade reports, Baaghi 4 earned around Rs 12 crore on its opening day. While the figure is decent on its own, it is considerably lower compared to the franchise’s earlier instalments. Baaghi 3 had collected Rs 17.5 crore on its first day, while Baaghi 2 opened with a massive Rs 25.10 crore. Even the first Baaghi (released in 2016) had managed Rs 11.85 crore, almost equal to the latest film’s debut.

This means Baaghi 4 opened about 31 per cent lower than Baaghi 3, which is a noticeable drop for a franchise known for strong first-day numbers. The movie recorded a 25.35 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday, indicating a lukewarm response from audiences.

The film is not only competing with audience expectations but also with several new and ongoing releases. Last week’s Param Sundari and the Hindi-dubbed Lokah Chapter 1 continue to draw attention, while The Bengal Files, which also released this week, has further divided the market.

However, the biggest competition has come from Hollywood. Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Conjuring Last Rites stormed the Indian box office on the same day, collecting an impressive Rs 20 crore across all languages. This opening makes it the highest horror debut in India, surpassing Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan’s Shaitaan, which earned Rs 17.50 crore last year.

Hollywood’s The Conjuring Last Rites Steals The Spotlight

Directed by Michael Chaves, The Conjuring Last Rites benefitted from its strong global brand and high audience curiosity. The horror thriller registered an overall occupancy of 55.46 per cent, with evening and night shows performing particularly well. Multiplexes and single-screen theatres reported packed houses, especially in major cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.

The film’s multilingual release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu helped it reach a wide base of viewers. IMAX and regular screenings together added about Rs 18 crore to the total. In contrast, Baaghi 4 collected Rs 12 crore, showing that audiences leaned more towards the Hollywood horror experience.

About Baaghi 4 And The Conjuring Last Rites

Baaghi 4 continues Tiger Shroff’s run as Ronnie, the central action hero of the franchise. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Sandhu, Shreyas Talpade, Saurabh Sachdeva, Upendra Limaye, and Sonam Bajwa. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the movie is designed as a high-octane action thriller.

On the other hand, The Conjuring Last Rites is the ninth film in the Conjuring Universe and serves as a sequel to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021). Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, with the plot revolving around their final terrifying case. The film also features Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren and Ben Hardy as Tony Spera.
