The box office clash between Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files has shown a clear picture by day five. Both films are facing challenges, but Tiger Shroff’s action drama is still ahead of Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s political thriller.

As per Sacnilk, Baaghi 4 earned an estimated Rs 3.47 crore net in India on Tuesday. With this, the film’s total in five days stands at Rs 39.22 crore. It started well on Friday with Rs 12 crore but dropped to Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, collections improved slightly to Rs 10 crore, only to dip again on Monday with Rs 4.5 crore.

Worldwide, the movie collected Rs 42.50 crore in its first weekend. But with mixed reviews from critics and audiences, it has struggled to keep its pace at the box office. Whether it can reach the Rs 50 crore mark in its first week will depend on its midweek run.

Directed by A Harsha, Baaghi 4 stars Tiger Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa and Harnaaz Sandhu. The story follows Ronny (Tiger), a man who survives a tragic train crash. Haunted by visions of a mysterious woman (Harnaaz), he sets out to uncover the truth while clashing with Chacko, played by Sanjay Dutt. The plot is said to be inspired by the 2013 Tamil film Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu.

The Bengal Files Box Office Collection

The Bengal Files has seen a weaker run in comparison. On Tuesday, it collected Rs 1.29 crore, slightly higher than its Monday figure of Rs 1.15 crore. This takes its total to Rs 9.19 crore in five days.

The film opened with Rs 1.75 crore on Friday, then made Rs 2.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.75 crore on Sunday. However, its weekday earnings have dropped sharply, showing a decline in audience interest.

The film is the final part of Agnihotri’s Files trilogy after The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. It claims to highlight the alleged massacre of Hindus in post-Partition Bengal. Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi, the film has sparked controversy in West Bengal. Several theatres reportedly refused to screen it due to threats. Actor and co-producer Pallavi Joshi even wrote an open letter to President Droupadi Murmu asking for protection of her freedom of expression.

While Baaghi 4 is far from a big hit, it is still ahead of The Bengal Files in terms of collections. Both films are struggling to pull audiences as the week progresses. For now, Tiger Shroff’s franchise is leading, but its slow journey towards the Rs 50 crore mark shows how tough the box office journey has become.
