Baahubali The Epic entered the box office race with high expectations, but the latest numbers show a mixed journey. The remastered version of the iconic franchise (led by Prabhas and Rana Daggubati) opened to solid footfall and positive feedback. Yet, the film has now witnessed a steep decline in collections after a strong weekend.
Baahubali The Epic Box Office Collection Day 4
The film began its theatrical journey with a special Thursday preview, collecting Rs 1.15 crore. Friday marked a powerful start with Rs 9.65 crore across languages, largely driven by the Telugu audience. Saturday saw a dip to Rs 7.25 crore, followed by another drop on Sunday as the film gathered Rs 6.3 crore. Even with these dips, the weekend totals remained healthy, giving the film a strong three-day push.
However, Monday turned out to be a testing day. The film saw a massive 74% drop and earned an estimated Rs 1.65 crore. With this, Baahubali: The Epic has reached a total of Rs 26 crore in four days. While the drop is notable, the film’s initial weekend total of Rs 24.35 crore in India and Rs 39.75 crore worldwide shows that the legacy of the franchise still commands audience attention. Now, it remains to be seen whether the film can steady its pace during the week or faces a further decline.
Expectations were high, especially given the massive success of the original films. Baahubali: The Beginning made Rs 650 crore worldwide, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion became a historic blockbuster with Rs 1,788.06 crore. While this new tribute film doesn’t bring a fresh story, it merges both parts into one cinematic journey. Fans were also intrigued as the film teased future expansion, including an animated project titled Baahubali: The Eternal War, reportedly made on a Rs 120 crore budget.

Why Tamannah Bhatia’s Romantic Song Was Removed From Re-Release Version?
Baahubali The Epic revisits the powerful saga of Mahishmathi. It traces Mahendra Baahubali’s return to reclaim his legacy and how Amarendra Baahubali’s tragic fate unfolds through Kattappa’s shocking betrayal. It later follows Baahubali’s fight for justice against Bhalladeva, played by Rana Daggubati. With enhanced visuals and sound, the remastered version aims to immerse fans once again, though its trimmed runtime of 3 hours and 44 minutes means some sequences have been tightened.
One notable edit was Tamannaah Bhatia’s romantic song. Director SS Rajamouli explained removing it and said, “The first cut was about four hours and ten minutes long. We held a special screening for both cinema and non-cinema audiences from different backgrounds, took their feedback and then reduced it to three hours and 43 minutes.” His goal was to make the story more focused and engaging for today’s audience.
Featuring stars like Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar and Tamannaah Bhatia, Baahubali: The Epic continues to evoke nostalgia and grandeur. The film has drawn loyal fans to cinemas, but its weekday performance will now decide how far this epic re-release can go in the current box office landscape.
