Baby John Box Office Collection Day 5: South Indian films often make their way to the audience's hearts with their intriguing concept, authenticity and emotions. Many times Bollywood tries to make the same treat for Hindi fans but making it a success is difficult. That distress recently became visible when Varun Dhawan released his South remake, Baby John. Apart from its first day Box Office collection, Varun Dhawan's Theri remake couldn't impress the audience. With a static collection at the Box Office, Varun's film is struggling to get past 30 crore. Let's find out more.
Baby John Box Office Collection Day 5
Varun Dhawan's film Baby John is experiencing a not-so-good reaction from the audience. On Sunday, the film earned INR 4.75*, making the overall Baby John box office collection, INR 28.65 Cr. Previously, on Friday and Saturday, Theri remake could amass, INR 3.65 Cr and INR 4.25 Cr respectively. Being a Christmas release it was expected that the film would outshine others on the big screen. However, things are different now.
What Went Wrong on Weekend?
On the weekend, Baby John faced tough competition from Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 The Rule which is still roaring high on the 25th day of its release. Not just that, Baby John dealt with competition from another South Indian film Marco starring Unni Mukundan. On one hand, where Pushpa 2 The Rule grossed INR 37.2 Cr this weekend, Marco's Box Office collection was also very close to Baby John. Having two big films playing alongside caused trouble for Varun's film.
Baby John is a remake of Tamil star Vijay Thalapathy's popular film Theri. The expectations from the film were high, as people love South Indian works. However, after Christmas, the film couldn't reach a double-digit collection at Box Office. As it was a mid-week release many expected that the weekend would make Varun Dhawan sweep all the records but the actor couldn't do that either.
Varun Dhawan's Upcoming Projects
Following the release of his two highly anticipated projects in 2024, Citadel: Honey Bunny and Baby John, Varun has a lot to his plate for 2025. Varun Dhawan's jam-packed schedule includes four releases. Bhediya 2 by Amar Kaushik, multi-starrer Border 2, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai by none other than David Dhawan and No Entry Mein Entry alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor. All of these film will go in production in 2025 with their potential release in 2026.
