Bhooth Bangla Box Office Collection Day 23: Akshay Kumar Starrer Sees 71% Jump On 4th Saturday Amid No Major New Releases – Check Figures

Bhooth Bangla continues its impressive box office run as the Akshay Kumar starrer jumped 71% on Day 23. The horror-comedy crossed Rs 154 crore in India amid weak competition from new releases.

The horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar witnessed a strong jump on its fourth Saturday and once again surprised trade circles with its steady theatrical run. With no major Bollywood release arriving this weekend, the film continued to dominate ticket windows and attract family audiences across India.

According to trade estimates, Bhooth Bangla earned around Rs 3 crore on Day 23 after collecting nearly Rs 1.75 crore on Friday. The massive jump of almost 71% is considered impressive for a film that has already completed more than three weeks in theatres. With this, the film’s total India net collection now stands at approximately Rs 154.75 crore.

One of the biggest reasons behind Bhooth Bangla’s strong hold is the lack of major competition in theatres. Recent Hindi releases like Ek Din, Daadi Ki Shaadi and Mai Actor Nahi Hoon opened to extremely poor collections and failed to create any significant buzz among moviegoers.

Trade experts expected at least one of the new films to affect Bhooth Bangla’s momentum. However, the Priyadarshan directorial continued to pull audiences, especially families and fans of comedy entertainers. The film now has a clear run at the box office until next weekend before Pati Patni Aur Woh Do arrives in cinemas on May 15.

The film has already crossed the Rs 150 crore India net mark comfortably and is now moving closer to Rs 240 crore in worldwide gross collections. The steady performance has made Bhooth Bangla one of Akshay Kumar’s biggest post-pandemic theatrical successes.

For Akshay Kumar, Bhooth Bangla’s successful run comes as an important comeback at the ticket counters after a mixed phase in recent years. The actor’s comic timing, combined with nostalgia associated with director Priyadarshan, appears to have connected strongly with audiences.

The film had crossed Rs 100 crore globally within just a few days of release and has managed to maintain a stable pace ever since. Positive word-of-mouth and repeat audience visits are also contributing to its strong box office trend.

About The Film

Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla follows Arjun Acharya, played by Akshay Kumar, a financially struggling man who inherits an ancestral palace in the village of Mangalpur. Ignoring warnings about a deadly curse and the demon Vadhusur, Arjun decides to host his sister’s destination wedding at the estate. What follows is a chaotic mix of supernatural mystery, comedy and dark family secrets.

The ensemble cast includes Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar and Jisshu Sengupta.

Released on April 17, 2026, the film has a runtime of 164 minutes and 52 seconds. It was reportedly trimmed by nearly 10 minutes before release to improve pacing and audience engagement.
