Daler Mehndi Row Takes New Turn, Subodh Uniyal Denies Apologising, Faults Singer for Not Disclosing His Health Condition

Uttarakhand minister Subodh Uniyal has denied apologising to Daler Mehndi over the Kunjapuri Mela row. He said the singer should have skipped the show or told organisers about his health, contradicting a claim by Mika Singh's team.

The row between singer Daler Mehndi and Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal has taken a fresh turn. Uniyal has denied apologising to the singer.

What Happened On October 18

According to LatestLY, Uniyal interrupted Mehndi’s live show at the Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair in New Tehri. The report says the minister accused the singer of being intoxicated and lip-syncing on stage. These were allegations made by the minister, and no report confirms them.

Bollywood Backed The Singer

Rajpal Yadav, Shaan, Kapil Sharma and Anupam Kher supported Mehndi, with some citing his ill health.

The Apology Claim

Days later, Mika Singh‘s team issued a statement saying Uniyal had apologised to Mehndi in a phone call. It thanked the minister for the gesture.

Uniyal’s Denial

In an interview with the YouTube channel Satya Vani, Uniyal rejected that claim. He said there was no question of him apologising and asked whether he had done anything wrong that called for it.

“Should Have Told Us”

Uniyal argued that if Mehndi was unwell, he should have declined the show or told the organisers and audience about his condition beforehand. He said the crowd had gathered with expectations that were not met. He also referred to the payment for the performance, according to Filmibeat.

Where Things Stand

The two sides now give different accounts of the phone call. Neither Mehndi nor his team has responded to Uniyal’s latest remarks in the reports I found. The nature of Mehndi’s health condition has not been stated in these reports.

The dispute now covers a public confrontation, an alleged apology and a disagreement over who should have explained what. Whether either side adds to its account will decide how long the row continues.
