Dhamaka Movie Review

Kartik Aaryan and Mrunal Thakur starrer film ‘Dhamaka’ has been released on November 19 on the OTT platform Netflix. The film has been in the headlines since the release of the trailer and the interesting thing is that even after the release, the film is getting equally great response. But there are few weak points of the film, were Kartik Aryan fails to fulfill expectations of the audience.

Anchor Arjun Pathak (Karthik Aryan), who has become the biggest star of the news industry, claims to tell the truth to the world. He brings tremendous TRP for his channel but in an accident he loses his job and now he is making a living by becoming a radio jockey. Arjun is waiting for that big event which can bring him old fame again.

Arjun Pathak is divorced from his wife Soumya Pathak (Mrunal Thakur). He spends his life only around the chair of his radio jockey. One day while he is doing the show, he gets a call which gives him the biggest chance of his life. But to pass through this opportunity, Arjun has to put a lot at stake. What happens next is the story of the film.

Based on the story of the Korean film The Terror Live, the music of this film is superb. The makers have left no stone unturned in terms of background music, which keeps your focus in the film and raises the level of every emotion. Shot in just 10 days, the direction of this film is superb and Karthik and Mrinal have done their job well. Then what’s wrong with the movie?

The biggest mistake that has happened in the film is at the level of the story. In the world of journalism, you tighten every news on a scale of 5W 1H. That is, to understand any news deeply, a journalist asks himself the question of What, When, Why, Who and How. And when you watch the film and ask yourself how? So that’s where the juice of the film ends.

The story of the film is about a blast going on on a bridge. There is a constant talk throughout the film that a bomb has been planted here. There is a bomb there but no one questions about how that bomb was planted. There are many similar questions that anyone as a journalist would ask in this situation, but because it has not been talked about, the film looks weak in many places.

Rating – 3.5
