Dhurandhar 2 Box Office: The buzz around Dhurandhar The Revenge is already huge ahead of its theatrical release. The action thriller starring Ranveer Singh has sparked major discussion among fans and trade experts about its opening day box office numbers.

However, several factors may affect its Day 1 collections despite the film’s strong demand. One major concern is the film’s extremely long runtime. Reports suggest that Dhurandhar 2 runs for nearly four hours. Because of this, theatres may not be able to schedule many shows in a single day.

As a result, the film could face capacity issues even if audiences are interested in watching it. The sequel is directed by Aditya Dhar and continues the story of undercover agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi (also known as Hamza Ali Mazari). The character operates deep inside Pakistan’s criminal network while pursuing a dangerous mission.

Long Runtime To Impact Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Opening?

Early box office predictions suggest that Dhurandhar 2 may collect around Rs 60–75 crore on its opening day. This estimate excludes paid preview shows. Because of this, many are wondering whether the film will fail to cross the Rs 100 crore mark on Day 1.

The nearly four-hour runtime is seen as the biggest challenge. Normally, cinemas run five or six shows of a film per screen every day. But with such a long film, theatres may only be able to run three or four shows.

Paid previews could also affect the opening day numbers. Some of the initial demand may be absorbed during preview screenings. While official box office reports may combine previews with Day 1 collections, the industry usually reports them separately.

Another issue is the release timing. Earlier, March 19 was expected to be a nationwide Eid holiday. However, Eid is now likely to fall on March 21. Because of this change, the film will release mid-week in many North Indian states. This could limit the opening day boost. Meanwhile, March 19 will remain a restricted holiday in places like Maharashtra and some southern states.

These factors have triggered a heated discussion among movie fans on Reddit. One user questioned the capacity issue and wrote, “Is the movie facing capacity issues, like there is demand but not enough screens to cater to?”

Another user commented, “Yes, maybe, but that will only effect opening. Bollywood movies are mostly never big on opening, they are long runners just like Dhurandhar.”

A third user explained the runtime problem, saying, “Ofc people will watch, and it will go off the charts, but in the long run, crossing 100 cr on first day won’t be easy, 4 hours + 1 hour, 5 hours for each show would only allow one screen to play it 4 times at the very most.”

Another added, “Limited number of screens, 4 hours for a single show plus at least 1 hour considering ads and cleaning, not everyone can sit for 4 hours in the theatre, prices a bit too high for a lot of people.”

Ticket Prices Of Dhurandhar The Revenge

The makers have also introduced a new premium pricing category called “Super Blockbuster Plus Rates”. This decision is reportedly linked to the film’s large scale and long runtime.

Usually, big films apply “Blockbuster Rates” or “Super Blockbuster Rates”, which are about 10 to 25 percent higher than normal ticket prices. However, the new pricing model appears to be even higher in some cities.

For instance, the highest ticket price for Dhurandhar 2 has reached Rs 3,100 for premium recliner seats at INOX Megaplex in Borivali, Mumbai. In Delhi, luxury seats at PVR Select City Walk are priced at around Rs 2,400, while VIP tickets in Bengaluru can go up to Rs 2,000.

Even premium formats like IMAX and Dolby Cinema are priced between Rs 759 and over Rs 1,000 in many metro cities. On the other end, the lowest ticket prices start from Rs 50 to Rs 59 in some theatres in Chennai due to regional price caps.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also features Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun in key roles.
